When Ocean Bottle was founded, they knew that their bottle had to meet the highest standards of sustainability and good design. They worked for over 3,000 hours with K8 Design to come up with the award winning Ocean Bottle.
Their criteria was simple:

-Operate in the Circular Economy - Ocean Bottles should be made from recycled materials and be completely home recyclable anywhere in the world
The bottle is recyclable and part made from recycled ocean plastic. It comes embedded with an NFC enabled smart-chip, which allows owners to register the bottle to the Ocean Bottle Mobile App to further fund the collection of ocean-bound plastic (for free) each time a refill is registered.With the sale of each Ocean Bottle, 25 lbs of plastic (the equivalent of 1,000 ocean-bound plastic bottles) is collected globally, in coastal areas where plastic pollution is worst.
Plastic is collected by locals who can exchange it for money, healthcare, tech products, tuition and micro-finance all via blockchain technology at their local Plastic Bank, creating a long term solution to plastic pollution. The material is then recycled into new products.
Ocean Bottle provides tailored impact reports and CSR Certificates for Ocean Plastic Collection with every order. They also produce impact reports annually providing an update on each of their four areas of impact: ocean health, social good, climate action and circularity.
